Bulgaria and Hungary look for increasing cooperation in economy and energy

Bulgaria and Hungary are to be looking for new dynamics in cooperation between the countries in the sectors of economy and energy.

The news was announced after the official meeting in Budapest between Bulgarian President Plevneliev and his Hungarian counterpart Janos Ader. Both presidents pointed out the importance of diversification of energy sources.

The Bulgarian President called for the implementation of the project that is to link the energy grids of Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Later the energy networks of Romania and Bulgaria will be also connected. In the past 10 years Hungarian companies have invested some 1 billion euro in Bulgaria, President Ader said. President Plevneliev thanked for the Hungarian support for Bulgaria in its bid to join the Schengen Area.
