Officials from Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey discuss border police cooperation

From Feb 20 through 23, officials from police directorates in Bulgaria, Turkey and Greece will share their experience with neighboring countries in the field of border control by presenting the reports from the operation of the Joint Contact Centers at Promahon, Gyurgevo and Kalotina.

Joint contact centers have an important role both for guarding the borders as well as countering organized crime, illegal migration, human trafficking, smuggling and customs violations. The analysis of their work shows that the exchange of information via them is growing, and they are more and more often used to disclose serious crime not only in border regions but also across the country. Bulgaria has now joint contact centers for border and police cooperation with almost all neighboring countries.
