Georgian wine-makers ready for inspection

The Association of Georgian Wine Exporters and the Center for Economic Cooperation of Georgia and Russia were sending Russian Chief Sanitary Inspector Gennady Onishchenko a letter with a request to inspect products, director of the center in Tbilisi Georgy Seturidze said, News Georgia reports.

The official noted that contacts had been established with Russia’s NGO Aura for consultations on legal, sanitary and technical matters.

Onishchenko said today that he did not know when Russian inspectors could visit Georgia for studies of products. He reminded that Georgia had sent documents about enterprises planning to ship products late. Onishchenko added that they the three groups planning inspection in Georgia will need time to study the documents, two days at best.
