Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has criticized functionaries disrespecting citizens and violating state policy. The criticism was expressed for the upcoming conference on roundup of the 4th year of fulfillment of the state program for socio-economic development of regions for 2009-2013.

Aliyev noted that Azerbaijani citizens were the central aspect of state policy. He admitted that disrespect to citizens had happened in certain districts and had been caused by arrogance of functionaries.

The president urged functionaries to work with honour and be modest. He reminded that he had marked his 50th anniversary in the Agjabedinsky District with forced migrants. Aliyev ordered functionaries to stop luxurious celebrations of weddings, birthdays and anniversaries.

Aliyev added that violations committed by children of functionaries will be followed by both a punishment for the children and dismissal of their parents from state service.

The Azerbaijani president reminded that he had ordered covers and tinted glass of car windows to be removed. Anyone violating the order will be dismissed, he said. 24,000 of cars had tinted glass removed. Aliyev ordered the interior minister to confiscate vehicles with tinted glass.
