Turkey world's 8th in steel production

According to figures of World Steel Association, Turkey rose two ranks to the 8th row by leaving Brazil and Ukraine behind in world steel production.

Global steel production rose 1.2 percent to 1.5 billion tons in 2012.

Turkey's steel production rose 5.2 percent to 35.9 million tons in 2012. Thus, Turkey, which had been world's tenth biggest steel producer in 2011, rose two ranks to the 8th row in 2012.

Turkey's share in world steel production in 2011 had been 2.2 percent, and it rose to 2.3 percent in 2012.
