Grey economy in Bulgaria starts to shrink

The growth of hidden revenues and the number of people involved in the grey sector of the economy in Bulgaria has been decreasing but remains high.

10-15% of the population have incomes coming from grey economy, Todor Yalamov from the Center for the Study of Democracy told the Bulgarian National Radio. Markers like export and revenues also show that Bulgaria has been slowly overcoming the economic crisis, the expert also said. A number of companies have reached bankruptcy but some have even managed to increase their profits during the crisis.
