Romania wants to open consulate in Sevastopol

Romania wants to open an honorary consulate in Sevastopol and help it establish friendly relations with the second largest Romanian city of Mangalia.

This issue was discussed at a meeting between Chairman of Sevastopol City State Administration Volodymyr Yatsuba and Romania's Consul General in Odesa Emil Rapcea, a UKRINFORM correspondent said, with reference to the press service of Sevastopol City State Administration.

«I consider it expedient to discuss the issue of the appointment of Romania's honorary consul in Sevastopol. This will help our two regions develop friendly relations and establish new business contacts. After all, we are Black Sea neighbors,» the press service quoted the Romanian consul general as saying.

Rapcea also offered his assistance in the establishment of friendly relations with the Romanian city of Mangalia.

Mangalia is the second largest port in Romania. The city was founded more than 2,500 years ago as a Greek colony named Callatis. Now there are a lot of resorts there, and every year Mangalia hosts Romania's largest festival of contemporary music.
