Ship with 20000 liters of fuel sunk near Ruse

On November 20 the ship sank in the estuary near the city of Ruse. Fuel tanks of the ship contained approximately 20000 liters of oil.

The ship transported timber and came to the port for unloading. Causes of accident are still unknown.

Captain Georgiy Ivanov, Ruse Marine Administration Executive Manager, informed that an expert commission got the task to investigate on the accident.

The crew explained that they had felt a collision of the hull with an underwater object. Nobody was injured due to this incident. «Pomorye» oil-spill boat is used for liquidation of accident’s consequences.
