Moldovan exports to Romania reach 309 million dollars in first nine months of 2012

Moldovan exports to Romania have reached over 309 million dollars in the first months of the current year, according to Romanian statistics. Also, during the same period of time, Romania has exported to Moldova goods amounting to 558 million dollars, thus being the second market for Moldovan exports.

According to a press release of the Romanian embassy in Chisinau, «Romania reaffirms its full support for Moldova, as regards the signing of a deep and comprehensive free trade agreement with the EU (DCFTA)».

«We estimate that the Moldovan exports to Romania will record a significant increase, for the benefit of both states, after the signing and entering into force of the DCFTA. We also believe that commercial bilateral ties between Moldova and the 27 EU countries will improve as well,» the press release reads.

According to the press release, the EU is the main market for Moldovan exports, amounting to 721.1 million dollars in January-September 2012, compared the market of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which amounts to 667.1 million dollars, ranking the second amongst Moldovan exports.
