Tbilisi among most rapidly disappearing cities

Tbilisi has been included in the most rapidly disappearing cities rating, compiled as part of the UN report «State of the World's Cities 2012/2013.»

Report «State of the World's Cities 2012/2013» includes lists of the most rapidly disappearing and the fastest growing cities. UN experts surveyed 600 cities of the globe with population over 750 thousand people.

Megacities were evaluated by five parameters: economic productivity, quality of life, state of the infrastructure and environment, and social justice.

Georgia's capital holds 15th place in the list of the most rapidly disappearing cities. According to the UN experts’ study, by 2025 Tbilisi’s population will shrink by 7.42% compared to 1990.
