Ukraine raised gas imports from Poland by 21%

129 million cubic meters of gas were taken to the Ukrainian gas-transport system in May 2013, exceeding the April volumes by 27 million cubic meters.

37.8 million cubic meters of gas were reversely transported from Hungary in May – twice as much as in April, Ukrinform reports.

The total volume of natural gas from Poland and Hungary, received from November 2012 till June 1, 2013, amounted to approximately 420 million cubic meters.

On November 1, 2012 the Public joint-stock Company «Ukrtransgas» commenced the receipt of the natural gas, purchased by Ukrainian «Naftogaz» from German RWE in the reverse mode via the territory of Poland, and on April 1, 2013 gas delivery was started via the territory of Hungary. «Ukrtransgas» conducts negotiations with Eustream (Slovakia) and SNTGN Transgaz (Romania) on the possibilities for natural gas supplies from the territory of Slovakia and Romania to the Ukrainian gas-transport system.
