The fiscal size of 21 new projects in Turkey exceeds $138 billion

The fiscal size of 21 new projects in Turkey, including an artificial waterway that would link the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara and a third international airport for Istanbul is more than individual national incomes of 130 countries.

The total bill of the private and public sector projects that included Canal Istanbul, Marmaray under sea tube, Akkuyu and Sinop nuclear power plants, a third airport in Istanbul, a third bridge over the Bosphorus, a national attack helicopter and a main battle tank, is over $138 billion.

Moreover, the total cost of tyhose projects also exceeded combined gross domestic product (GDP) of 40 countries such as Macedonia, Maldives, Moldavia, Nigeria and Kyrgyzstan.
