Georgia confirms participation in Sochi games

Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Pandzhikidze says the country won't boycott the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games. She said, however, that Russia will be expected to create certain conditions that will allow Georgia's participation in the event.

The issue will be soon discussed at the coming meeting between Russian deputy foreign minister Grigory Karasin and the Georgian prime minister's special representative for Russia Zurab Abashidze.

Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanizhvili said earlier that his country will most certainly take part in the Olympic Games in Sochi.

President Mikheil Saakashvili's supporters, on the contrary, said that the country would probably boycott the games.
