Liquefied gas prices go up in Moldova

This past weekend, some operators of the Moldovan oil products market, increased the retail prices on liquefied gas.

At the Lukoil, Rompetrol and Tirex-petrol gas-filling stations, the prices on gas went up from 8.7 lei per liter to 9.27 lei. Importers explain the increase in prices by the fact that since early 2013, the excises on gas have grown 11% - up to 1,800 lei per ton.

The liquefied gas is highly used by Moldovan households. Moreover, many taxi services have vehicles that are using liquefied gas as fuel. Thus, cab drivers have already announced about their intention to increase the fares because of the rise in fuel prices.
