Moldcell is the first to acquire 4G license in Moldova

Moldcell has become the first mobile operator in Moldova to acquire 4G license, thereby marking an important milestone in driving new innovations in Moldovan telecommunications market. Now the company will be able to offer commercial services on the basis of a next generation super-fast mobile broadband network, which provides access speed of up to 100 Mbps.

Mr. Sergiu Sitnic, the director of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Moldova (NRAECIT) officially handed the 4G license to Moldcell General Manager, Mr. Barkin Secen and congratulated the company with this historic day.

«I’m happy that by this step we finalize one stage of our big mission of country information development and I’m sure that 4G services from Moldcell will bring all the advantages that the clients are expecting from mobile internet – speed and quality».

Mr. Barkin Secen, Moldcell General Manager pointed out that being part of the TeliaSonera Group, who is one of the inventors of mobile telephony, it was a very natural step for Moldcell to secure 4G LTE technology.

«Moldcell is part of TeliaSonera, who has pioneered 4G technology in the world and has always supported us to invest and deploy it in Moldova, for the benefit of country citizens. I’m confident that Moldcell 4G services to be launched soon will further improve Moldcell clients’ experience by providing them the fastest mobile Internet ever», said Moldcell General Manager, Mr. Barkin Secen.

It should be noted that Moldcell announced a year ago its readiness to commercially launch the network of fourth generation. Moldcell organized during the ICT Summit, back in May 2011, a live presentation of the most advanced and intelligent 4G communication solutions.

«Moldcell was the first to bring 4G technology to Moldova and successfully tested its 4G LTE network. One year ago we showed its advantages - speed, quality and mobility for surfing the Internet, streaming HD movies, etc. We also have the network in place already, based on Ericsson solutions», added Moldcell General Manager.
