USA donates humanitarian aid to Moldova

Prime Minister Vlad Filat on September 22 participated in receiving a consignment of humanitarian assistance provided by the US government to the medical institutions within the Operation Provide Hope Programme of the US Department of State, the government's communication and press relations department has reported.

Attending the event were also Health Minister Andrei Usatii, US Ambassador to Moldova William H.Moser and coordinator of foreign assistance of the US Department of State Daniel Rosenblum.

The officials met the American delegation at the Chisinau International Airport, where attended the procedure of offering the humanitarian aid. Then a news conference was held.

The consignment of humanitarian aid is provided within the partnership set between the US Department of State for Offering Assistance in Euro/ACE Area, American Academy of Family Physicians, US Academy of Family Physicians Foundation, as well as the NGO «Heart to Heart International».

The assistance includes medicines and medical devices, amounting to 12 million dollars.

Medicines and medical devices are expected to be delivered to the republican, municipal and district public medical-sanitary institutions. Over 100,000 patients from Moldova will benefit from this assistance.
