Georgia clears its prisons

There were 10,341 convicted and remanded prisoners in Georgia on April 14, which is 13,362 prisoners, or 56.4 percent less than in the same period in 2012, according to the information from the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance of Georgia. 

On April 12-14, 13 people were released from prison according to the law «On Amnesty». 
In total, 8539 people, including 175 political prisoners, 388 women and 21 children, were released under the amnesty act, Trend.az reports.
