Petrol, diesel oil prices up by 0.5 lei in Moldova

On February 7 Moldovan oil companies increased the petrol and diesel oil price by 0.5 lei, according to the prices posted by the companies.

The price of the A95 petrol, the most demanded one, reached 17.62-17.64 lei per litre, whereas the price of the diesel oil – 16.67-16.69 lei, reaching the September 2012 high record, when the oil companies increased the fuel price by 0.5 lei per litre.

Oil employees explained the fuel price increase by a 11-per-cent-rise in the excises in 2013 and the oil's quotation at the international exchanges.

The spokeswoman of the National Agency for Regulation of Energy (ANRE), Stela Iatco, has told MOLDPRES that about 13 oil companies submitted their notice to the ANRE as regards the fuel price increase. Many importers announced a 3-per-cent-rise.

The last increase in petrol and diesel oil rates was by late September 2012, when the oil companies increased by 0.5 lei per litre. The ANRE has described the fuel price increase as groundless. Later, the companies decreased the price of the A95 petrol, down to 17.12-17.15 lei per litre, whereas the price of the diesel oil – 16.17-16.20 lei per litre.

According to the ANRE data, in 2012, the price of the A95 petrol increased from 16.6 to 17.14 lei per one litre, whereas the price of the diesel oil – from 15.8 to 16.15 lei.
