More than 5500 convicts left Georgian prisons

The number of convicts, who have already left Georgian prisons under the Amnesty Act, has already exceeded 5500 people.

As on February 3, altogether 5718 persons have left prisons, including 175 political prisoners, 231 women, and 14 teenagers.

The new Amnesty Act was adopted in the mid-January and was signed by the Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili. Georgian President has refused to sign the Amnesty Act.
