Georgian president opens tourism facilities in Adjara

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has opened a new cableway and a 1800-meter skiing track in Adjara.

Saakashvili, Levan Varshalomidze, an MP Anzor Bolkvadze of Khulo and students of the skiing school were the first to use the new cableway and then the track.

The president expressed hope that the new government would continue construction of such tourism facilities. The resorts in Adjara were built using Georgian and Austrian investments.

Construction was realized by Doppelmayr (Austria) for €10 million. Half of the 4-km cableway has been constructed.
